Samsung cycle names are similar across many machines, but the load limit, time, temperature and available options can change by model. Use this guide to understand the purpose of common programs, then confirm the details in the manual for your exact model.

Important: this is general guidance, not a replacement for your Samsung manual. Read the model number from the appliance label and check its official program table before relying on a load limit or temperature.

15' Quick Wash or Quick Wash

This program is intended for a small amount of lightly soiled clothing. It is useful when items need freshening rather than stain removal. Samsung guidance for some models limits the 15-minute cycle to less than 2 kg, but your machine may have a different limit.

Use less detergent than you would for a full load. Extra detergent cannot compensate for a short program and may remain in the fabric.

Synthetics

This setting is made for fabrics such as polyester, nylon and similar fibres. Samsung describes it as suitable for synthetic blouses and shirts. The program normally uses a smaller maximum load than Cotton and controls temperature and movement to reduce fabric stress and creasing.

Cotton and Eco Cotton

Cotton is for robust cotton items such as towels, sheets, underwear and shirts. The machine may adjust time and rinsing according to the load. Eco Cotton aims to reduce energy use; the actual wash temperature may be lower than the temperature shown while the program takes longer.

Other useful Samsung programs

ProgramGeneral purpose
Rinse + SpinAdds rinsing and then removes water. Useful when a load needs another rinse.
SpinRemoves more water without running a full wash.
WoolGentle care for machine-washable wool within the stated load limit.
DelicatesReduced action for sensitive washable fabrics.
Eco Drum CleanCleans the empty drum. Do not put clothing inside.
Outdoor CareFor suitable sports and outdoor fabrics; check garment labels.

Why does the time change?

Displayed time can change after the machine senses the load or during the cycle. Water pressure, temperature, load balance, foam and selected options can also affect duration. A changing estimate is often normal. A cycle that repeatedly stops with an error, cannot drain or never reaches spin needs further checking.
