Dishwasher programs change temperature, water use, spray pressure, drying and time. The best choice depends on the load, not only how quickly you want it finished.
Eco
Eco is designed to reduce energy and water use for normally soiled dishes. It often takes longer because it uses time instead of aggressive heating. A long eco program is usually normal.
Auto or sensor wash
The machine uses sensors to adjust parts of the cycle according to the detected soil. It is a useful everyday option for mixed loads when you are unsure which fixed program to choose.
Intensive or pots
This program is intended for robust cookware with baked-on food. It normally uses stronger spray and higher temperatures. Keep delicate glasses, plastics and items with fragile decoration out unless their instructions allow it.
Quick or express
Quick programs suit fresh, light soil and may reduce or skip drying. They are not the best answer for dried food, greasy pans or a crowded machine. Dishes may come out wetter.
Glass or delicate
This uses gentler conditions for suitable glassware and delicate dishwasher-safe items. Clouding can also relate to water hardness, detergent dose or irreversible glass corrosion.
Pre-rinse or rinse hold
This short program rinses food residue when you are waiting to run a full wash. It is not a complete cleaning cycle and normally uses no detergent.
